Hamish Stoddart

Pub Sustainability Champion

Hamish Stoddart is the founder MD of the award-winning Peach Pub Company. Peach was recently sold, and Hamish now splits his time between NonExec roles, coaching and building After the Clouds Foundation sustainability projects.

Peach won numerous awards including 10 consecutive Best Employer Awards, the Publican Sustainable Pub Company of the Year 2021 and  Premium Food awards.

Hamish’s role in Peach in the last 6 years was to turn a business with a culture, into a high-performing purpose-led business.  Commitment to engaging the team, supporting the community and driving all sustainability metrics and agendas built a purpose-led Peach with profit performance.

Hamish is a management all-rounder, with experience in leadership, marketing, IT, logistics and finance. He studied Economics and Maths at Cambridge; qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand; went into the family firm, Cearns and Brown as an operator leading a team of 400. When the food distribution company was sold to Brake Bros, he was Commercial Director. Hamish began to work with other entrepreneurs setting up businesses before deciding he was ready to start one of his own. He carried on being a non-exec of a range of businesses.

Hamish is now an experienced MD, leader, coach, buyer, marketer, strategist, non-exec. Hamish (and Peach) created the After the Clouds Foundation not-for-profit organisation and Bigger Peach, the Peach drive to inspire great places to work and save the planet. And he created a hospitality industry collaboration group, Race to Net Zero. His personal passion is to secure the future of the Enonkishu Conservancy, through supporting Herds for Growth on the northern boundary of the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem in Kenya.

In what time remains, Hamish skis, sails and lives life with his business partner and wife Jo in the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire,  Mahon, Menorca and in London.
