Alex is Sustainability and ESG Lead at Cancer Research UK, one of the largest UK charities, working to support the charity to be both responsible and sustainable. Previously Alex was Head of Division – Responsible Business at a FTSE100 finance business for seven years helping to drive societal impact from donations and volunteering towards core product and purpose. Alex has also worked for nine years in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award head office on commercial operations and national programme delivery; and four years in pharmaceutical research.  Since 2004 Alex has been involved in international development and community linking in Gunjur, The Gambia, and chairing the Marlborough Brandt Group since 2016.  Alex is a sustainability business growth consultant with Elephant’s Child, specialising in supporting SMEs on their sustainability and responsible business journey.
